The Future of the iPhone

As we roll into 2009, the iPhone will continue to dominate the touch screen cell phone market. Even though Steve Jobs has had problems with his health and is taking a leave of absence, and Apple has suffered during the hard economic times, the iPhone continues to be one of the top selling cell phones. 2008 brought an abundance of "iPhone wannabes", but none of them proceeded to be "iPhone killers".
Recently, a version of the iPhone was released and is being sold a WalMart. It runs about 99 $. Also, Steve Jobs told many of his employees that soon an newer iPhone will be released that will only be 199$, but will still include many of the features that the "WalMart iPhone" lacks. Although many people are worried about the health of Apple, the huge company that introduced one of the greatest cell phones of our time is not going anywhere.

Steve Jobs Takes a Leave of Absence

Steve Jobs recently told his employees his health complications were “more complex” than he thought they had been. In my last post i explained Jobs' letter to stockholders explaining the hormone imbalance he had acquired. Because this turned out to be more serious, he has decided to take a leave of absence until June.
Apples stock has declined 7 percent since the news of his "vacation" broke, making stock holders very worried. Jobs says he will continue to make big decisions for the company, but he will keep out of the public eye. Doctors recomened that he take time off because the stress was not helping his condition. Is this reason not to buy an iPhone? No, the iPhone will stay perfectly healthy. Steve Jobs is a different matter. No one really knows how sick he is.

Steve Job's Heath

Recently, there has been a great decline in Apple's stock. Rumors have been flying that Steve Jobs has a repercussion of his pancreatic cancer. However, in a letter he issued to all of his shareholders recently he said, "My doctors think they have found the cause—a hormone imbalance that has been “robbing” me of the proteins my body needs to be healthy." In an effort to assure shareholders, he told them what was wrong with his health and how treatment will happen. Ever since he issued this letter, Apple's stock has gone up 4%.
Although Jobs sent this letter, many still wonder about his capability to carry out the needs of Apple. Because he did not make the speech as he usually does at MacWorld and Apple announced that 2009 would be the last year of their collaboration with MacWorld, many still suspect Steve Jobs is sicker than he says he is.
